Spool's Cool is building a collection of filament art, bookmarks, keepsakes, and small-batch pieces that celebrate Canadian artists and the work behind the image.
We are looking to collaborate with artists whose work could translate beautifully into layered colour, texture, shape, and light. Our goal is not just to make beautiful objects. It is to help more people discover the artist behind them.
Our work is tactile, colourful, and a little unexpected. People pick it up, turn it over, ask how it was made, and want to know the story behind it.
That makes 3D printed pieces a different way to share artwork. Not a replacement for the original. Not a flat print. A new format that can live on a wall, tuck into a book, sit on a shelf, travel home from a market, or become part of a small collection.
Artist collaborations will include various ways for customers to find more of your work including attributions, artist links, product tags, social media features and other opportunities as they arise.
We are especially interested in artwork, photography, patterns, landscapes, animals, botanicals, local scenes, bold colour, strong silhouettes, meaningful places, and pieces with a clear mood or story.
Not every image will work in filament, and that is okay. Part of the collaboration is figuring out what translates well into this medium.
Send us a note with a little about your work and what kind of collaboration your are interested in.
We will look at fit, style, permissions, possible formats, timelines, and next steps. If there is a good match, we can talk through how the piece could become filament art, bookmarks, keepsakes, or another small-batch product.
We only work from artwork and images we have permission to use.
